Q: Will it warp or rust under high heat?
All models use high quality stainless steel, all part of the grill! minor discoloration (bluing) is a natural chemical reaction of steel to heat, structural warping is prevented by the reinforced "double-wall" and "thickened plate" design.
Q: Can I use standard skewers, or do I need specific ones?
YANFLAMMA skewers specifically designed for hanging grill are highly recommended. However, if you prefer not to purchase them, we suggest using skewers equipped with handles, or utilizing a specialized clip adapter to accommodate standard skewers. It is crucial that the skewers are no wider than the slots on the skewer rack; otherwise, you may be unable to mount them properly.
Q: How "smokeless" is it really?
Depend on the quality of the charcoal you will be burning, the vertical designs are "smoke-reduced" because fat from the meat drips into a water tray or away from the coals rather than directly onto them. This prevents the "flare-up" smoke that carries acrid flavors. however this wont reduce the smoke coming from the charcoal it self.
Q: Is it stable enough for a table, or does it need a stand?
Thanks to its circular base, this grill remains highly stable on most flat surfaces; it can be placed either on a tabletop or directly on the ground. However, please take care to protect the tabletop from heat damage.
Q: Does it come with a "Seasoning" requirement?
Yes. Like a cast-iron skillet, a new steel grill should be "burnt in." Light a small fire and let it burn for 30–60 minutes without food to burn off any residual manufacturing oils and to cure the high-heat paint.
Q: Can I use it in door?
Indoor use is not recommended. Burning charcoal produces carbon monoxide, which can be fatal. It is recommended to use this barbecue grill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
Q: Can I use wood chunks instead of charcoal?
You can use wood for flavor, but for the primary heat source, lump charcoal is recommended. Barrel grills are designed for the high-density heat of charcoal.
Q: How many people can I realistically cook for at once
Normally, 20 skewers set is ideal for 2-3 people, 28 skewers set is ideal for 5-6 people.
Q: Why choose a vertical/barrel design over a standard flat grill?
These designs offer two main advantages: thermal efficiency and space-saving. The vertical chimney effect creates a more intense, directed heat zone for rapid searing (ideal for kebabs), while the barrel shape allows for double-wall insulation that holds heat better than thin-walled flat grills.
